George Coman, the founder of the Abundant Love Children’s Home, knows first-hand the pain of being orphaned. Abandoned by his mother at the age of 4, he lived for eight years with his abusive father until entering Romania’s orphanage system at the age of 13.
Looking back, the seven years Coman spent in the orphanage were the happiest and most beautiful memories of his childhood. Removed from an abusive home, he was free to enjoy his childhood with the knowledge that he would be fed, clothed and taken care of. That is the feeling that he seeks to instill in the orphans of the Abundant Love Children’s Home: A sense of love, security and belonging.
Because Coman knows first-hand the pain and brokenness that accompanies being an orphan, he feels compelled to reduce that suffering in other children facing these same burdens. For this reason, he founded the home with the mission of improving the lives of Romania’s orphans and allowing them to grow into capable and compassionate adults.
We believe that all children, regardless of their circumstances, deserve true agape love. This deep, selfless love has the power to transform lives. For this reason, we live by our vision statement: No orphan without a loving family home. This is what we work toward each day, relying on donations, volunteers and the compassion of our knowledgeable staff to provide the brightest possible future to the young people in our care.
